Established in 1990, The Groveport Madison Education is the Way Scholarship Foundation is a local independent non-profit organization under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Led by a Board of Trustees, and managed by The Columbus Foundation, our endowment fund provides scholarships to eligible Groveport Madison Students who attend Groveport Madison High School, and Eastland - Fairfield Career and Technical Centers.
Education Is The Way administers scholarships, which are awarded to eligible students when a family's contribution (EFC) and the student's financial aid package total less than the cost of tuition, room and board, and books/materials, resulting in unmet financial need. Scholarships of $500.00 - $1,000.00 are available each year for up to four years of a student's program at a university, college, technical school, or training program. Students must apply each year. The scholarship funds are disbursed directly to the post-secondary institutions by The Columbus Foundation, and may be used to assist students with tuition, room and board, or books and materials for classes. The Columbus Foundation issues quarterly financial reports to the Board of Trustees. To date, we have awarded scholarships totaling over $392,000.00. Our goal is to raise awareness of scholarship opportunities, and increase funding for the endowment in order to maximize our potential to help Groveport Madison graduates enter and succeed in post-secondary education. In order to increase funding, we encourage and appreciate donations from community members, district employees, corporations, local businesses, and friends of education. |
